You might be thinking, there must be a typo in that title, but there’s not. It’s a bit cheeky, but it’s all true; the engineers at Toyota are trying to change the way you think about fuel and energy. As technology progresses, we’re able to move away from reliance on non-renewable resources, such as fossil fuel or natural gas, and move toward a world that relies on and is powered by renewable resources, such as wind power, hydroelectric, and more. Not only are these forms of energy less harmful to the environment, they’re likely to be less expensive than the current forms of energy we use. A double win.

But what’s with the lemonade thing? As Toyota explains it, there’s a lot of renewable energy in this world, but it often doesn’t get utilized because we don’t have very efficient ways to store it when it is being produced but not necessarily used. That’s why hydrogen cell technology is so exciting—all that excess energy that would have gone to waste can now be stored in the form of hydrogen. When hydrogen mixes with oxygen through a fuel-cell, it creates electricity, which can power your car and is pretty darn cool. Check out this informative video from Toyota that explains how you might go from something like leftover lemonade to electricity for your ride.

If you thought that was neat, we at Dick Poe Toyota invite you to stop into our showroom, located at 6330 Montana Avenue, El Paso to see what else Toyota has to offer.
