Pedestrian Detection
People sometimes dart out in front of your vehicle to cross the street, especially when you're making turns at intersections. In case road conditions prove quicker than your reflexes, there's the Toyota Avalon's pedestrian detection feature. It employs radar and camera to detect pedestrians up ahead or other possible collisions. The system issues audio and visual warnings, even braking automatically if needed.
High Beams on Auto
It's no longer necessary to constantly switch between low and high beams. The Toyota Avalon does it for you. It automatically turns on high beams when exterior lighting is low. It toggles between high and low beams at oncoming vehicles or in response to vehicles that precede the vehicle.
