Tow trucks operate by the side of the road all the time. They carry cars away from accidents, and save motorists who have broken down. Unfortunately, there is risk involved in these operations. Every year 200 roadside workers are killed in fatal accidents occurring while they operate by the side of the road. One reason is that around 71% of Americans are unaware of the "Move Over" Law that protects them.

The "Move Over" Law exists in every state across America, and is designed to protect any service worker performing their duty on the highway. When spotting a service worker, like a tow truck driver, operating by the side of the road, motorists are required to change lanes. By changing lanes or staying about 15 feet away drivers ensure that roadside workers are protected.

At Poe Toyota, we value the service tow truck drivers provide. So please remember to move over.
